Medicare Advantage Plans
A Medicare Advantage Plan, sometimes called “Part C,” is a type of Medicare health plan offered by a private company that contracts with Medicare to provide you with all your Part A and Part B benefits.
Covered Services in Medicare Advantage Plans
If you join a Medicare Advantage Plan, you’re still in the Medicare Program and you still get complete Part A and Part B coverage through the plan. Most Medicare Advantage Plans offer benefits beyond Original Medicare at no additional cost, like prescription drug coverage and fitness memberships.
Joining a Medicare Advantage Plan
In general, there are specific times when you can sign up for a Medicare Advantage Plan, or make changes to the coverage you already have. This is known as the Annual Enrollment Period, which takes place each year between October 15 – December 7.
